Unlikely Tourists a month ago

This was our first time at Madcap, but we had been told that the coffee was amazing, which was entirely true! We got the Nakatomi Plaza, which was a Christmas themed drink in April. Lots of warm spice to it, not too sweet, and extremely smooth coffee. The people here are friendly, and the location is a good mixture of older architecture and more contemporary decor. It would be nice if there were more places to sit and have a conversation though. There are some standing tables, some larger group tables, and then a few smaller tables, but overall it doesn't seem to have been designed for you to sit and stay a while. Most people seem to get their coffee and go. So depending on the vibe you're going for, that's something to note.

Love their beans, espresso, and pour over. This is a great cafe to spend time reading or in conversations. Service has always been top notch with people that know coffee and don’t mind discussing. I make sure to visit every time I am in Grand Rapids to see what creative coffee focused drinks they are offering in addition to classic great coffee. Truly one of the best in the country.

madcap coffee company is one of my go to spots when i need a pick me up. the coffee is always satisfying and has become part of my daily fuel routine. whether i'm starting my morning or need a boost in the middle of the day, it always seems to do the trick. definitely a great mood booster and a place i enjoy coming back to.

The best coffee around. Came in from UT to have their latte. Always glad I stop in!! The atmosphere is busy and full of life, but enough seating to relax and talk with friends! They also have a wide variety of their roasted coffee on hand.

Great local coffee shop in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. I tried the dirty chai latte and it was fantastic! There was plenty of seating on a Saturday morning but it filled up fast around 10am. Lots of great coffee and pastry options.
